Visual research for an upcoming corporate video shoot. Will be filming similar corporate video for a local healthcare organisation. This video is from Raffles Medical Group, it is the most interesting healthcare video I have encountered by far. The video follows a lot cinema film making conventions, i.e. the cinematic looks, the invisible editing and cut structures, and sound design.
We can see some decent shallow depth of field in the video, which isolates the subject from the background, it can also creates foreground to achieve seemingly 3D visuals for a 2D medium. Further the the contrasty visuals are certainly appealing to watch and resembles cinematic films’ colour grading. In terms of editing structure, each sequence will have an establishing shot - wide shot, and after establishing the geography, narrower detail shots are introduced, and are essential to carrying the story/sequence forward. Cuts are fast, seemless and with good range of shots to help the audiences piece together a big picture in their minds. The underlying music and sound design are also key to the flow and seemless editing of the video, which without the video will not be as good as a whole package.
